Yuk

For the first time I’ve been able to convince my nephew to draw something under my request (he never does something when he’s asked to). Top right is the Sun, with red nose and rays that look more like hair. Top left is the moon (“I don’t know how to draw a Moon, I make it round too”). The dark things are the clouds, and in blue is the rain. At the bottom is the grass, and a tree that for some reason he drew lying down horizontally.

Well, I guess he will not become an artist.

Conclave 2013 – The catfight

The world watches, holding its breath. What’s happening there inside the Sistine Chapel? The common belief is that the cardinals are sit around big tables, holding the conclave with seriousness, composure, spirituality. It’s a paramount decision, influenced by God… and international politics. They are about to decide the head of one of the most important nations on the planet, after all.

Then there is my own scenario: I’d love to see the conclave from a LIVE CAM placed in the chapel, and discover that inside everybody is screaming and jangling: a total catfight with the cardinals pulling each other’s hair “I want to be the next pope! You don’t deserve it, bitch!” “You old pedophile, I’m gonna be the pope, you have no chances!“. With the poor camerlengo Tarcisio Bertone trying -uselessly- to separate many very competitive contenders. Then, at the end of each fight, everybody drinks hard spirits and smokes a mega-joint. That’s the smoke the world sees coming out from the chimney.

We need a law against this

Some months ago, in Rome, a kid died in the street, hit by a vase that fell from the 6th floor of a building. I was sad to read the news, but that strengthened a conviction that I had already before this episode happened.

I’ve always found incredible this habit that people have: putting heavy vases with plants on the edge of their balconies. Without any protection. Just like this, lying on the edge.

Of course, it’s not only an Italian habit. I think that this is done in many cities around the world. What I don’t understand is: why-isn’t-this-considered-illegal? Those who do this should be fined, and required to remove that dangerous stuff.
