Beijing is really different from the idea I had of it. I’m loving it.

The funny thing is that I was not sure to choose it for my holiday: I wanted to see a traditional oriental city, and I was worried Beijing could have been too occidental.

Well, I just came back from some fuit shopping. When I asked the greengrocer for “two bananas” he directly laughed in front of me. And then involved his colleagues, recitating: Two!! One-Two-Three-Four! One-Two-Three-Four!. All laughing. Yeah, english is still a funny oddity here.

Obviously I don’t consider the other possible the scenario… with the greengrocers laughing because they were thinking: He wants two bananas? Then he wants to eat one!.
